Daily Thoughts

Mrs.Orloff from George Waters middle school did Destination Imagination with us. We learned how to add detail on the palms of our hands. We read Hatchet and worked our Hatchet scenes. Handball permission slips in tomorrow. We did more daily 5 today.

This weeks goal is focus on the task. we finished the terry fox story. we started talking about odd and even numbers. tomorrow we will finish our picture project tomorrow. in daily 5 we talked about choosing a good partner. tomorrow Mrs. Orloff is visiting our class to teach us about Destination Imagination.

 Today we did a math game on making a bigger number. We also worked on our picture project. Mister Blake read more Hatchet to us. We learned how to choose a partner in daily 5. Today was the second recorder club. We learned  why we need breakfast.

Daily thoughts

Today Team 18 finished a science video on healthy eating and came up with good questions. Mr Blake went shopping for new books thank you Mr Blake. We also had a fire drill practice. Daily 5 we did in the afternoon along with the book Hatchet.

Daily Thoughts

We did mental math. Today our class did daily 5 and got to pick what we wanted to do. We learned about nutrition and compered food labels. This afternoon we did bus rider ship. In math team 18 did place value.

Daily Thoughts

Our goal was to have 40 minutes of free time today outside.  We achieved that goal by listening and working hard.  This morning we worked on problem solving and our picture project.  This afternoon we had Daily Five, worked on our vivid scenes for Hatchet and had some exercise outside. 

Homework:  Bring food labels to class on Monday for Science. Five should be enough per student.  Bring pictures of yourself if you have not done so.  Have a fun weekend outside!

Daily Thoughts

We practised I read you read. Next we finished table names. The class learned the four food groups. Team 18 read the story Hatchet. This morning Mr. Blake's class started their first morning routine.  We received our equipment bin for recess. 

Homework: Bring a food label and make sure you label what food it is.  Also, bring a picture of yourself if you have not already done so.

Daily Thoughts

In the morning we had a substitute teacher for the morning while Mr. Blake was at a meeting. We came up with table names and poster. We practised read to self for the Daily 5.  As a class we need to work on listening and following instructions, that is our goal for this week.

We added detail to our self portrait.  Mrs. McDonald visited our class and helped us with our Daily 5. We welcomed a new student today to team 18.   We started our first Science unit called Maintaining a Healthy Body.  We need to bring in food labels tomorrow. We started working on our most vivid scenes from Hatchet.

Our first art class and we started our portrait of us falling into outer space. Mr. Blake read us The Kissing Hand. We finished and revised our goals. We answered more Hatchet questions.

We had our first music class and library class. We started reading the book called Hatchet. We created our name tags for the board Where we can post our work. We learned more about each other while we did the all about me activity. We picked our first job people. We picked table leaders. 



For homework we have to bring pictures of ourselves and tell our parents to check out the room blog.

As a class we came up with some ideas of what our team 'motto' would be.  These are the ideas students all agreed to for our classroom.

Friday, September, 5th

Today was our first day of classes. As a class we worked together to create our class motto. This morning we had a school assembly and reviewed WITS and school expectations. In the afternoon we got our supplies and settled in. Team 18 learned Mr.Blake's rules.  Mr.Blake has a cool scar on his eyebrow.

Last day of summer holidays for students!  I am looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!  At the end of the day tomorrow we will write a post on here as a class.  Have a fun and safe last day of holidays!
