Health- Today in health we learned about how to balance our meal. We got plastic plates for health and we had a blank piece of paper and we had to write vegetables and fruits,grain,milk and alternatives and meat. We had to draw things in the food guide. We learned that half our plate should be vegetables and fruit. One quarter should be grain and the other quarter should be meat and alternatives.

Island Triology

This is the Island that Ben Ari Patrick Becca  and Danielle made for a project . We read 3 books all in the same series that was called Island. After we read all 3 books we wanted to do a project about the book so we decided to make a model of the island. First we picked out of the book the most interesting facts and wrote them all down for a good a good copy and after we were done that we started to make the model. We did this during daily 5. Island is about 6 kids that got stranded after there boat sunk. They found this island and stayed there until they found a way off of the island. The popsicle sticks mark were all of the events happened. I think that one problem we had was that every one had different ideas so it made it hard to decide what to do. I think that we had a better vision of the island once we made it. And that was the island project.

today we learned how lightning can affect people. We learned more about each other about fossil fuels and  global warming. Bring in all your forms. Felid trip on wensday. track and felid meat on thursday.

Today, Team 18 had a heat island effect  experiment and got to go outside and compare  items to see what was hot and what was cold. We  learn that people made items are warmer. Next week the grade 5's will have their first Bike Club on Wednesday from 3:50 to 4:30.  Homework is to go outside and observe the weather, when is it cooler? when is it warmer?  Have a great safe weekend!

Aridine, Madison and Jorja who all were rewarded a Silver Medal in yesterdays Divisional Science Fair!

Fun Friday!

Today Room 18 did daily 4. Karin Adams came to Room 18 and read Frostbite Hotel and signed our bookmarks! We had library and music. We also learned about the different types of clouds some of those are nimbus, cumulus, stratus and cirrus clouds.
